COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course surpasses HTML and web design fundamentals. It encompasses a broad array of conceptual knowledge, tools, and techniques required for dynamic web site development. Lectures and demonstrations are integral to this hands-on
course. The course is aimed at a variety of students — from those who
create web pages within the context of their jobs, to those preparing to be
web developers and web masters. Topics include reviews of HTML and design principles,
e-commerce, web scripting languages, hosting, promoting, and maintaining sites.
Prerequisite: CSCI-114, or equivalent knowledge.
Students are expected to to have basic knowledge of HTML, graphical file
formats, and file management skills.
SOFTWARE APPLICATIONS:
A variety of software will be used. A text editor such as Notepad will
be used for writing source code. Adobe GoLive will be introduced later
in the semester as an HTML editor. Several Internet browsers will be available
to assure that websites are developed with ultimate compatibility. Additional
FTP clients and graphic editors will be used.

ATTENDANCE POLICY
Class attendance is critical to your success in this class. For classes
that meet three days a week, no more than three (3) unexcused absences are permitted.
For classes that meet two days a week, no more than two (2) unexcused absence
is permitted. Excess absences will result in 5 points being taken
off your Final Grade.
You are responsible for all activities in each class, whether you are present
or not. You are allowed to make-up classwork and tests only if you have
an excused absence.

LATE ASSIGNMENTS: Twenty-five (25) points will be deducted if your assignment is late. Late assignments must be submitted no later than the next class period.
