Create Your Assignment Page
Objective:
Your goal is create a webpage that will link to all of your future homework assignments. I will be using this page to access your assignments for grading. The minimum requirements for the page are listed below.
Instructions:
Do Parts 1, 2, & 3 before you arrive to class on the day that this assignment is due. Then we will do Part 4 together in order to upload your work to your web account.
Part 1:
The task for part 1 is to design a banner. You have already done that.
Part 2:
Create the HTML file before you arrive at class as well. The skills are based on Chapters 2 & 3 only. However, if you have prior experience and wish to use CSS, you may feel free to use it.
- Start an HTML page and name it index.html. Use the code on page 39 to guide you in creating the correct structure and elements. Save it in your Assignment Folder.
- In addition to the banner, add all the information shown in the box on below.
- Be sure to create a hyperlink for your email address.
- The type of heading is h2.
- Notice that the types of lists are: unordered, ordered, and description, respectively. To clarify, that means:
- unordered list for Homework & Classwork
- ordered list for Website Project
- description list for Terms of Agreement
- Keep in mind that for future assignments, such as the Shape Up! Case Studies, you will create a link to them. There is no need to worry about the chapter links at this time.
Part 3:
Before arriving in class on January 26th, validate your index.html webpage at http://validator.w3.org and make sure there are no errors.
Part 4, to be done during class:
During the final part of the class, you will learn how to upload to the server by using your stu.cofc.edu account.
